The University of Oviedo, as part of its commitment to internationalisation, has promoted language training in recent years. Within this framework, La Casa de las Lenguas offers courses in fifteen languages, including Spanish sign language.
La Casa de las Lenguas offers almost a hundred courses in different languages. The courses can be taught by one or more teachers, all of them specialists in each of the languages, and the minimum age for enrolment is 17.
The language training offered by the University of Oviedo extends to all university campuses, in addition to Avilés. Courses usually last 75 hours. Each group, with a maximum of 20 students, receives two 85-minute sessions per week (Monday and Wednesday / Tuesday and Thursday).
At the end of the course, participants who have attended at least 85% of the teaching hours and pass the final exam will receive a certificate of achievement. Other students will receive, upon request, a certificate of attendance.
Non-university teachers in active service, if working in a centre funded by the Principality of Asturias and have received the above-mentioned Certificate of Achievement,
