To be admitted to the University of Oviedo for official undergraduate university studies, students with partially completed official Spanish undergraduate university studies must meet the following requirements:
- to have a minimum of 30 ECTS credits recognised, in accordance with the University of Oviedo's regulations on recognition and transfer of credits and adaptation (CG 28/04/2011).
- Additionally, students must accredit an admission mark in their studies of origin equal to or higher than 85% of the cut-off mark in the immediately previous academic year in the studies of the University of Oviedo in which they are applying for admission, in the admission quota that would have corresponded to them according to their access route. These marks will be published annually together with the places offered in each course.
For each course, applications will be ranked according to the following order of priority:
- If the studies qualify or are a necessary condition for the exercise of a regulated profession in Spain according to the guidelines of the competent ministry, preference will be given to those students coming from degree studies that qualify or are a necessary condition for the exercise of the same profession.
- Next, in first place, if the degree studies do not qualify for any regulated profession, preference shall be given to students from other degree studies with competences, learning outcomes and contents similar to those expressed in the educational plan of the degree, as determined, in view of the applications, by the centre's Technical Committee for Credit Recognition (CTRC).
- Subsequently, preference will be given to students from degree courses belonging to the same branch of knowledge as the courses for which admission is sought.
- After the students with preference, all students from other degree courses will be placed.
Within each of the groups, student applications will be ranked in order of the average mark of the university transcript, calculated in accordance with article 5.3 of Royal Decree 1125/2003, of 5 September, which establishes the European credit system and the grading system for official university degrees that are valid throughout the national territory.
The Governing Council approves annually, at the proposal of the Vice-Rector for Students and after hearing the Dean/Director of the faculty or school, an offer of places available through this channel. The call for applications will also determine the deadlines and places for the submission of applications, the documentation that must accompany them and the places where the places will be published.
The University of Oviedo may decide to admit applications for places from students who present exceptional situations and who, fulfilling the established academic requirements, have not obtained a place in the general procedure. Given the exceptional nature of this procedure, the possibility of submitting the application, which shall be addressed to the Vice-Rectorate for Students, shall be considered permanently open. For this purpose, additional places may be allocated to those initially proposed.
The awarding of a place will result in the transfer of the academic transcript, which will be processed by the university of origin.
