Ceremony of the National Award for Research in Sports Medicine

The award was given to a research on the the time of recover of injuries and the influence of genetic factors

The Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, presided this morning over the award ceremony of the National Award for Research in Sports Medicine, alongside the director of Sports of the Principality of Asturias, José Ramón Tuero, the director of the Social Work of Cajastur, Carlos Siñeriz, and the Delegate of the Rector's Office for Sports of the University of Oviedo, Miguel del Valle.

The first prize of the fifteenth edition of the prestigious award recognized the work of Doctors Rosa Artells, Jordi Ribas and Ricardo Pruna, of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona and the FC Barcelona, for their study titled Influencia de los polimorfismos genético en genes relacionados con la reparación del tejido conectivo en el grado de lesión y tiempos de recuperación.

The second was given to a project by researchers from the European University of Madrid and the University Hospital "Niño Jesús" of Madrid for their study titled Efectos de un programa de entrenamiento de fuerza sobre la condición física y la calidad de vida en pacientes con anorexia nerviosa restrictiva: Ensayo aleatorio controlado.

The project that obtained the third prize was conducted by teachers from the Universities of Oviedo, A Coruña, Vigo and the Pontifical University of Salamanca, titled Influencia de la fatiga física en la calidad de la RCP después de un rescate acuático: Impacto el material de apoyo en el grado de supervivencia.

The different research teams received this morning their respective diplomas in a ceremony that took place in the Main Hall of the Historical Building of the University of Oviedo. A total of 26 projects from all around the country have been submitted for this call of the award.
