Maestros, stage managers, singers and university lecturers will discuss each piece for this season in a cycle of encounters at LAUDEO's Cultural Centre, entrance free.
The University of Oviedo and the Oviedo Opera Foundation begin to collaborate with the joint organization of several activities regarding the LXV season of Oviedo Opera.
The Asturian academic institution and the OOF will plan a cycle of conferences open to the Asturian society in which singers, stage managers and directors, designers, scenographers and university lecturers will analyse the keys of each of the pieces of the season. Furthermore, the collaboration agreement signed by both organizations will make it possible to approach the opera season to other Asturian places as part of a program of live broadcast, fostered by Telecable.
The encounters will get bel canto fans together at the Cultural Centre of University Extension LAUDEO (Historic Building) during the dates of performances. The entrance will be free for those interested in taking part in the debate.
The first of the encounters will deal with two of the main characters of Werther, the piece by Jules Massenet based on Goether's novel, which opens the season. The singers Nancy Fabiola Herrera (Charlotte), and Elena de la Merced (Sophie) will also take part. They will be accompanied by Margarita Blanco Hölscher, lecturer of German Philology at the University.
The dissemination and promotion of culture is one of the common points between University Extension and OOF. For this reason, both institutions will promote a broadcast program which will allow it that people from different Asturian places should enjoy the pieces of the LXV season.
Likewise, thanks to this agreement, groups of students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters will be allowed to attend the dress rehearsals, and the students of the degree and Master's Degree in History and Science of Music will be allowed to carry out their practicals in the offices of the Oviedo Opera Foundation.
ENCOUNTER PROGRAM OF THE LXV SEASON OF OVIEDO OPERA

Among others, the sopranos Ainhoa Arteta and Elisabete Matos, the stage managers Emilio Sagi and Mariame Clément or the wardrobe designer, Julia Hansen, will be at LAUDEO accompanied by experts in music, history, art and psychology of the University of Oviedo.
