The University of Oviedo has become examination centre for the Italian PLIDA certificate
The academic institution has signed an agreement with Dante Alighieri Association and it has increased the list for its accreditation of languages.
The University of Oviedo and the Dante Alighieri Association have subscribed an agreement by which the Asturian academic institution has become an official examination centre for the Italian PLIDA certificate (Dante Alighieri Italian language project). The student who passes the tests will obtain an accreditation from "La Sapienza" University of Rom in the diverse levels of Italian language for foreigners. This degree also counts with the recognition of the Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Employment and Social Politics.
The vice- rector for Internationalization and Cooperation for development, Ana María Fernández, emphasized the importance of this agreement inside the framework of the Campus of International Excellence belonging to the University of Oviedo in the internationalization's path. Fernández reminded that nowadays knowing a language is not enough as "it is necessary to prove it".
La Casa de las Lenguas will be the centre in charge of carrying out the tests in two annual calls: May and November, both opened to the university community as well as society in general. The call of May will take place on the 26th and 27th and those who want to participate can already enrol.
The representative of the Dante Alighieri Association, Carmen Martín Alonso, stressed that Italian is one of the most studied European languages and PLIDA certificate is famous around the world as it is extended in 60 countries.
This new certificate is added to the ones that the University of Oviedo carries out: DELE of Cervantes Institute, which proves the knowledge of Spanish as a foreign language and the official exams of German form the Goethe Institut; IELTS of professional and academic English which are given by the University of Cambridge and managed by the British Council and the DELF and DALF diplomas of French, given by the French Alliance.
