The University has presented 249 courses for the 2011-2012 sports season

Sport will be fostered as a health way, further than its competitive side

The University of Oviedo has programmed a total of 249 courses in 45 disciplines grouped fitness, outdoor activities, sport learning, body language and healthy sport. From aerobic, yoga or fitness training courses to surf, kayaking or even paddle tennis, without forgetting trips around the mountains, descent of canyons and caving.

This entire offer, comprised in the Sports Course 2011-2012, was presented last 28th of October by the rector, the vice- rector for University Extension, Culture and Sports and the head of Sports and Health Area of the University of Oviedo, accompanied by the Chief Manager of Sports from the Principality, Marcos Niño.

Miguel del Valle, head of the Sports Area of the University, stressed the opening of new sports facilities in Mieres as one of the main course's novelties. Facilities with great acceptance and frequently visited by university students. At the same time, Del Valle trusts that the Oviedo facilities which are still under improvement works can be ready so that users can enjoy them during Christmas time.

Furthermore, both the vice-rector for University Extension, Vicente Domínguez and the Chief Manager of Sports from the Principality, Marcos Niño, showed their interest in fostering sport as a health way, further than its competitive side.
