The University of Oviedo has reinforced its relations with China
The academic institution is preparing mobility agreements with five universities from the Shandong Province.
The University of Oviedo is preparing new international mobility agreements for students with five Chinese Universities belonging to the Shandong province. The vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation for Development, Ana María Fernández have just made an institutional trip to China in order to open new cooperation channels and consolidate those agreements already signed.
The students' mobility is one of the lines that the Campus of International Excellence of the University of Oviedo is trying to promote and it's a transverse axis of the Ad Futurum project. In the plan presented to the 2011's call for the Sub programme of Strengthening, in its modality of Consolidation, the academic institution has performed two actions which will link the University with China: Astur-China Bridge and Astur-China Mobility Grants.
In this last trip to China, the University of Oviedo has maintained several institutional meetings with Universities that own a department of Spanish language. The first meeting has taken place at the University of Weihai, with which the Asturian academic institution signed a framework cooperation agreement last November. During this meeting, future actions related to students' mobility programmes have been discussed.
At the University of Qingdao, the vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation for Development has written a report of intentions to start working together in joint projects. This will be formalized in diverse agreements. The main purpose is to promote mobility among students in a double direction: Chinese students who come to finish their degrees or to study master's degrees at the University of Oviedo and Asturian students who want to carry out a Chinese course during the summer in the Asian country. Contacts with the Shandong Normal University in Jian and Shangdon International University, both located in the Shandong province, the second most populated of China, have been established.
