The Social Council of the University of Oviedo met this morning after the partial renewal of its members. The new President, Ladislao Azcona, took the opportunity to welcome the new counselors.

The university organization approved the financial statement for the 2011 fiscal year. Besides, the order of the day included the regional supplementary payment for the teaching and researching staff of the University and the distribution of collaboration grants in the departments.

In the meeting, they also constituted formally the Social Council with its new members. Its composition is the following:

By appointment of the Governing Council of the Principality of Asturias:

Ladislao Azcona (Presidente), Alejandro Fernández, Victorina Fernández González, Miriam Cueto Pérez, Francisco José Sánchez Fernández and Agustín Iglesias Caunedo.

By appointment of the General Assembly of the Principality of Asturias :

Francisco Javier Junceda Moreno, Francisco Rodríguez García, Ramón Álvarez Bello and Emilia Vázquez Menéndez.

By appointment of trade unions:

Daniel Rodríguez Vázquez and Miguel Iglesias Ballina.

By appointment of business organizations:

Alejandro Blanco Urizar and Pablo Justel Alonso.

On behalf of the Governing Council of the University of Oviedo. Ex-officio members:

Vicente Gotor Santamaría, Ignacio González del Rey and Eusebio González García.

By choice of the Governing Council of the University of Oviedo:

Santiago Álvarez García, Alejandro Mier Rodríguez and Miguel Ángel Rey Castrillo.

The Social Council also approved the appointment of Ignacio Villaverde as Secretary of the organization, who will take office in the near future.
