2011 Summer Sport Campus to facilitate family conciliation
Sportive and didactic activities for boys and girls with aged from 6 to 12.
From the 30th of May, application forms for the Summer Sport Campus can be sent. This is an initiative with which the University of Oviedo is trying to facilitate, after the end of the academic year, the family conciliation for the members of the university community with children in their care. There will also be opened to people who don't belong to the University, in case there will be free places.
The vice-rector's office for University Extension, Culture and Sports is in charge of organizing this Campus who suggests the participation, the use of games and learning as activities for boys and girls aged from 6 to 12 during a two weeks' camp. There will a total number of 80 places, divided in two groups of age (6 to 8 and 9 to 12 years old) and two turns (from the 27th of June to the 8th of July and from the 11th to the 22nd of July). The activities will be carried out on the mornings, in Oviedo (Campus of Los Catalanes) and Gijón (C.P. El Llano) and there is the chance that children can have lunch there.
Among the scheduled activities, some of them will are thought to promote group integration (group dynamics), physical and sport exercise (traditional games, basketball, football...), intellectual activity (English, chess); workshops for the creation of bubbles and laughter therapy, first aid techniques, road safety, etc.
The price will be 70 Euros for university community members (130 if the food is included) and 130 Euros for people who don't belong to the University (190 if the food is included). The application forms and the supporting documents with the age requirements and family links can be submitted from the 30th of May to the 3rd of June in the Registries of the University. Detailed information about the Campus as well as the forms to formalize applications will be available soon.
