92 students of the University of Oviedo will participate in the Santander program of grants to do internships in enterprises

The Santander-CRUE-CEPYME program allots €165,000 to fund the grants and the application period will close on February 15

A total of 92 students of the University of Oviedo will benefit this year from one of the grants given by the Santander-CRUE-CEPYME Program. A total of €165,000 will be invested to allow youths to get in touch with the labor market and acquire experience in its productive areas.

The Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, was in charge of presenting this morning the third edition of the grant program, alongside the territorial director of Banco Santander, Óscar Calleja; the acting president of the Asturian Federation of Entrepreneurs, César Figaredo, and the Vice-Rector for Students, Luis Rodríguez.

Gotor praised the benefits of transporting knowledge to the enterprise, thanking the commitment of the Banco Santander, through Santander Universidades, and of the Asturian enterprises for this initiative, which will reach a total of 230 students with grants by the end of 2014, with an allocation of €414,000 by the Banco Santander.

In turn, Óscar Calleja was satisfied with the success of the program and ensured that the commitment of the banking institution with the University will remain intact in future editions. The preside of FADE also encouraged Asturian enterprises to take part in the inititive, which allows them to get in touch with recently-graduate students and incorporate new ideas.

The period for application for the 92 grants will end on February 15 and must be completed on the web portal www.becas-santander-com. Last year, more than 90 students of the University of Oviedo did internships in 70 enterprises of the region, which requested professional profiles that corresponded to almost all the Degrees offered.
