Lecturers from the University of Oviedo and teachers from Vocation Training centres from the Principality of Asturias took part this morning in "Uniovi + FP = Σxperiencias. Fórmulas para sumar esfuerzos y multiplicar resultados". The forum was opened this morning by the Rector, Vicente Gotor, and the Regional Minister of Education and Universities, Ana Isabel Álvarez González.

The session, organised by the Vice-rector's Office for Students and Employment and with the support of the Vice-rector's Office for Campus of International Excellence, included lectures and expositions in which they showed some of the venues of collaboration between both systems and which have been especially successful in other regions.

The experts meeting in the Great Hall at the Multipurpose Building of the Campus of Gijón, had the chance to debate and contrast ideas to strengthen collaboration avenues between university and vocational programs. In his speech, the Rector pledged the University's commitment to collaborate because "both systems have the responsibility of offering the best education possible to our students, which will be the society in the future".

For his part, the Regional Minister of Education and Universities highlighted the importance of vocational training students having the opportunity to carry out practicals at the University and have access to the facilities and leading laboratories.

The Vice-rector for Campus of International Excellence, Paz Suárez Rendueles, was in charge of bringing the session to an end emphasizing that "the collaboration between the University and Vocational Programs is one of the aspects that should be a top priority in the program of the Campus of International Excellence and which has been promoted and encouraged in the calls from the Strengthening Subprogram. We have taken the first steps, but we still have got a long way to go", she concluded.
