The University of Oviedo Theatrical Group stages 'Historias para ser contadas'

The play by the Argentinian Osvaldo Dragún reflects how far human beings go to find a job

The students in the second year of the Theatrical Group, which is promoted by the Vice-Rector's Office for University Extension and Communication, put on stage at the Campus of El Milán their first staging of Historias para ser contadas, by the Argentinian playwright Osvaldo Dragún and under the direction of Etelvino Vázquez. The cast consisted of Santiago Montequín, Estela García, Rocío Álvarez, Rubén Marcos, José Peláez, Susana Carnero and César Luis Alonso.

Historias para ser contadas is one of the plays which means the turning point of the modern Argentinian theatre. Performed for the first time in 1956, the play brings on stage the difficulties some of the characters have to go through in order to secure or retain a job.

Historias para ser contadas brings to light a current conflict, from both a theatrical and critical perspective, proposing a vision of the world which has hardly changed since the play's first performance, 50 years ago.
