The First Workshop of the Spanish Programme for Inter-University Cooperation: Chemistry in Ethiopia
Within an Inter-University Cooperation and Scientific Research programme belonging to the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (PCI-AECID), this workshop will take place on the next 27th and 28th of October.
This event, which is also part of the international year of chemistry, will be held at the Science Faculty building of the University of Addis Ababa and will include the participation of teachers and researchers from the Ethiopian institution, the University of Oviedo and the Institute for Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the Spanish National Research Council.
The program includes a first day of lectures devoted to the presentation of the initiatives currently being undertaken at the University of Addis Ababa within the PCI-AECID program: "Theoretical and Computational Chemistry as a key tool for basic and applied chemistry" and "Zeolites in Ethiopia: an untapped resource". These two inter-university cooperation projects are promoted by the University of Oviedo and the Institute for Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the National Research Council, respectively. The second day is dedicated to practical sessions which will address the basics of Computational (Chemistry) Science and its applications. Further details can be found in the poster enclosed.
