The University of Oviedo has signed the first working staff collective agreement

FETE-UGT, SIPU and ACUO union trades supported the agreement with the rector, Vicente Gotor.

After a long negotiation process, which began in December of 2008, the University of Oviedo has just signed the first working staff collective agreement. The agreement was signed yesterday, 11th of July, by the FETE-UGT, SIPU and ACUO union trades. From the 23 members of the social part, the agreement received 17 favourable votes and 6 against.

The signature was formalized in official Rector's office, by the rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor and the union representatives: Daniel Rodríguez (FETE- UGT), Siro Bosque San Emeterio (SIPU) and Rafael Álvarez Rodríguez (ACUO). The collective agreement, the first one of the University of Oviedo with its working staff, must be ratified by the university and regional authorities.

With this new agreement, a text which came into force in 1990 for all universities in the area of Central Government's jurisdiction in 1990 and which affects more than a thousand of university workers has been updated.
