Meeting of the Committee for the Monitoring of the Campus of International Excellence
The body is composed by the Government of the Principality, Town Councils, Businessmen's Federation, Cajastur, Chambers of Commerce, CCOO and UGT trade unions as well as some representatives of the University.
The Committee for the Monitoring of the Campus of International Excellence of the University of Oviedo will celebrate a meeting on the 17th of February at 11h, in the Auditorium of the Historical Building in order to look through the actions Report in the framework of Ad Futurum project throughout 2010 and the proposals for the current year.
This body is in charge of promoting CIE's ties with territory and society. The Rector of the University of Oviedo and the President of the Principality co-chair it and it is also integrated by the City Councils, Chambers of Commerce, FADE, Cajastur, CCOO and UGT trade unions as well as some representatives of the academic institution and University of Oviedo Foundation.
28 members of the Committee will attend the meeting tomorrow, which will mean the official constitution of the Committee. Some of them have confirmed their attendance: the President of the Principality, the Education and Science Councillor, the General head of Universities, the head of the University's Social Council, the mayoress of Gijón, the mayoress of Avilés, the mayoress of Langreo, the mayor of Mieres, the mayor of Salas, representatives for Oviedo and Castrillón town-councils, representatives from the Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés' Chambers of Commerce, from FADE and from Cajastur and the general secretaries of CCOO and UGT of Asturias. The Committee is formed by the following members of the University: apart from the rector, the vice-rector of the Campus of International Excellence, the General Secretaries and the vice-rectors with competences in Academic Ordination, Research, Students, Internationalization and Infrastructures, there will be a representative from students and the head of the University of Oviedo Foundation.
