The Campus of International Excellence awards 15 grants funded by Cajastur to keep the best students

The scholarships will allow the students with the most brilliant academic records to finish a Master's Degree and a PhD Thesis at the Asturian academic institution

A total of 15 students of the University of Oviedo received this morning the grants for talent keeping funded by the Social Work of Cajastur aimed at letting them finish a Master's Degree in the Asturian academic institution. The goal of the grants, called for by the Campus of International Excellence, is to allow the students with the best academic records to continue their studies at the University of Oviedo by starting a Master's Degree and finishing a PhD Thesis.

The Vice-Rector for Research and Campus of International Excellence, Paz Suárez Rendueles, and the director of the Area of Institutional Relations and Social Policies of the Social Work of Cajastur, Carlos Siñeriz, were in charge of giving the diplomas to the benefitiaries of the grants, awarded with €10,000 for each student. "Attracting and retaining talent is one of the stretegical axis of our Campus of International Excellence and you are among the best, and that is why we are happy to be able to support the start of your career as researchers with us", said Paz Suárez Rendueles, who thanked Cajastur for its helpfulness towards the University of Oviedo "in times where finding sponsorship is not easy".

In turn, Carlos Siñeriz stressed the importance of the social commitment that Cajastur keeps "with Asturias, because you are the most brilliant example of the future of this region", he said to the 15 benefitiaries of the grants. "In spite of the economic crisis, our collaboration with the University of Oviedo is deep and we will maintain it", concluded the director of the Area of Institutional Relations and Social Policies of the Social Work of Cajastur.

These grants to retain talent of this academic year join the ones that each year are promoted by the Campus of International Excellence of the University of Oviedo. In this case, each of the grants gives €10,000 to the students, who will enroll in any of the the Master's Degrees that comprise all the fields of knowledge.
