The University of Oviedo creates six new Master's Degrees with a professional direction

The Governing Council has greenlit the establishment of the six programs starting during the 2014-2015 academic year

The University of Oviedo has approved, in an extraordinary meeting of the Governing Council, the establishment in the 2014-2015 of six professionally-oriented Master's Degrees. Students are required to take these Master's Degrees to acquire the required professional skills, and they will have a duration of between one and two years, depending on the Degree.

The agreement by the Governing Council includes the establishment of the Master's Degrees in Marine Engineering and Management of Maritime Transportation, which enables students to become Captain of the Merchant Navy (60 SCT); in Marine Engineering and Maintenance, which enables them to become ship engineers (60 SCT); in General Sanitary Psychology (120 SCT), which allows students to work as a general sanitary psychologist; and the Master's Degrees in Mining Engineering (120 SCT), Telecommunications Engineering and Industrial Engineering (120 SCT each), which enable the students to sign projects.

El consejo aprobó, además, la implantación del Programa de Doctorado en Ingeniería Náutica, Marina y Radio Electrónica Naval, en colaboración con las universidades de Cantabria, La Laguna, País Vasco y Politécnica de Cataluña. The Council also approved the establishment of the PhD Program in Maritime, Marine and Maritime Electronic Radio, in collaboration with the Universities of Cantabria, La Laguna, the Basque Country and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
