The jury of the Cajastur Award for the best academic record of the University of Oviedo has awarded the prize to Daniel Álvarez Rivas, student of the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, who had the best academic record of the Asturian academic institution during the 2012-2013 academic year.

The prize will be awarded during the ceremony of celebration of the Patron Saint of the University, Saint Catherine of Alexandria. The monetary prize of the award amounts to €6,000. The students with the best academic record of each Degree compete every year for the Cajastur Award.

The jury chooses among them the winner according to a set of previously-established criteria. This way, the only students who may be eligible for the prize are those who have reach an average of at least "Sobresaliente". Among them, using a mathematical formula, the best academic record is chosen according to its average mark, the difficulty of the Degree and the grades obtained by their colleagues.
