The University of Oviedo Foundation adapts its legal regime to the current regulations for contracts in the public sector
The Governing Council of the University of Oviedo approved in their meeting of today the conversion of the University of Oviedo Foundation (FUO) into a property of the University, increasing the percentage of its participation in the Board up to 51% of the voting rights. The conversion answers to the technical adequation of the situation of the FUO and its relations with the University of Oviedo to the current legal regime.
For the Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, who presides over the Board of the FUO, the approval of the conversion of the FUO into a property of the University shows the "the adamant commitment of the University and its Foundation to fulfilling their respective missions of general interest in the context of the full adaptation both to the current legal regulations and to its responsibility to answer to society".
Thus, the FUO joins the noteworthy group of Spanish university foundations that have been transformed into a property of their respective university, such as the General Foundation of the Autonomous University of Madrid, the General Foundation of the Polytechnical University of Madrid, the General Foundation of the University of Alicante, the University of Granada Empresa Foundation or the Canarian General Foundation of the University of La Laguna.
Furthermore, the Governing Council of the University of Oviedo approved the rest of the points scheduled for today's session.
