The Students Council has prepared a survey in order to find out the real needs concerning study areas
The Vice-Rector for Students has announced the Students Council his willingness to set up right away, 3 spaces for study in addition to the existing ones from now to July 22, in compliance with the commitment of the Rector, Santiago García Granda.
The extension of spaces and opening times was one of the most popular demands of students during the campaign "We take the floor" and also one of the firm commitments expressed by the Rector of the University of Oviedo.
The initial offer is based on providing at least one study area in each of the main Asturian cities in which faculties and campuses are located: Oviedo, Gijón/Xixón and Mieres, trying to meet the demands about opening hours, so the closing time, usually at 8 p.m. will be extended to 3 a.m.
The places initially chosen by the Students Council are a room in the old daycare center, near Plaza de la Gesta in Oviedo, the examination room of the North Lecture Room Building in Gijón/Xixón and the students cafeteria in Mieres, although they could be modified depending on the students' demands.
The Students Council has prepared a survey in order to find out the real needs concerning study areas,to avoid opening spaces unnecessarily, which are not going to be really used. Students may access and fill out this survey for two days, until June 9th, on this link.
