71,6 % of the students who successfully complete a university master´s degree find a job after completing their studies, and 73% of them state that they would undertake the same master programme again if they had to choose a graduate programme again. This is some of the information shown by the monitoring survey which the International Graduate Center has carried out with those graduates holding a master´s degree in the last three promotions.

For the academic year 2015-2016 the academic institution is offering a total of 50 master programmes, whose deadline will end on June 8. The catalogue includes international bilingual programmes, in close collaboration with the business sector.

This study, elaborated by the Technical Unit for Quality Assessment, has interviewed 437 students from 27 different master programmes, a sample that includes all branches of knowledge. The demographic profile shows an Asturian female student between 20 and 30 years old. The number of foreign students and students from other provinces has been increasingly growing for the last three years until reaching one third of the total students registered.

This is the first time this monitoring study is carried out since the University renewed its graduate offer to adapt if to the European Higher Education Area. Graduates guarantee the success of the graduate programmes of the University of Oviedo, as half of the participants in this survey, 40%, state they use "quite often or a lot" the knowledge acquired, to carry out their professional duties.

The monitoring study also includes aspects related to the working conditions. 41% have a temporary contract and 25 % have a permanent contract. Big enterprises are the main choice of graduates, 51% of them work in a company with more than 500 employees. It is worth mentioning the percentage of entrepreneurs, which increased from a 4% in 2011 to a 12% in 2014. The study also shows that almost 70% states to be "quite or very satisfied" with their current job.
