The students elected delegates from 16 faculties and schools, the International Center for Postgraduate Studies and vocals of the PhD students of the academic institution
The University of Oviedo held yesterday the elections for students to choose their 75 representatives for the University Senate. Participation reached 11.5% of the census. The voting took place to elect the delegates of 16 faculties and schools, the International Center for Postgraduate Studies and the PhD students of the Asturian academic institution.
Once the votes had been recounted and the winning candidates had been provisionally announced, a period for complaints has been open. Any complaint against this provisional resolution must be presented to the Central Electoral Board between November 13-17.
The Senate is the highest representative organ of the university community. It is composed by the Rector, the General Secretary, the Manager and three hundred members elected from within the different sectors of the university community. The election for the Senate are held once every four years and its plenary meeting must take place, at least, once per year.
