During the act, Professors Fernando Manzano and María Álvarez of the Department of History were in charge of conversing with Pérez, who properly traced the figure and the role of Cardinal Cisneros in the Spain of the 16th Century. The historian also talked about the role and the character of inquisitor Fernándo de Valdés y Salas, founder of the University of Oviedo.

After finishing the coffee with Joseph Pérez, the director of the Library, Ramón Rodríguez, showed the winner of the Prince of Asturias Award the volumes that are kept at the academic institution about these times and which reveal, for example, the systems of censorship.
