The University of Oviedo and Tartiere Auto S.L. have signed a collaboration agreement to sponsor the women's basketball team of the Asturian academic institution, which competes in the national silver category.

The Rector, Vicente Gotor, and the delegate counsilor of Tartier Auto, Jesús M. Fernández-Jardón Fernández, signed the agreement this morning at the office of the Rector. Present during the were also the Delegate of the Rector for Sports and Health, Miguel del Valle; the sales director of Audi, Iñigo Tartiere, and the sales director of Volkswagen, Alejandro Canga.

The economic contribution amounts to €6,000 per year by the enterprise to promote the university women's basketball team.

The collaboration between the University and Tartiere Auto aims at promoting the practice of sports and healthy habits, one of the identity features of the policy of corporate responsibility. Currently, the University of Oviedo participates in affiliated competitions of a dozen sports disciplines, including women's basketball.
