The Rector will preside over the act at the Main Hall of the Historical Building on September 24, with the participation of Fernando Suárez and Francisco Sosa Wagner
The university community will pay homage to the memory of former Rector Teodoro López-Cuesta, who died last June. The academic institution will host a solemn act on September 24 at the Main Hall of the Historical Building to pay tribute to the figure of López-Cuesta.
The Rector, Vicente Gotor, will be in charge of presiding over the ceremony, which will have the participation of Fernando Suárez González, Tenured Professor Emeritus of Labor Law and Social Security of the UNED, Tenured Professor of Labor Law and Social Security of the University of Oviedo (1969-1973), and Francisco Sosa Wagner, Tenured Professor of Administrative Law of the University of León, Tenured Professor of Administrative Law of the University of Oviedo (1976-1982) and General Secretary of the University of Oviedo (1977-1982).

Teodoro López-Cuesta Egocheaga was Rector of the University of Oviedo between 1975 and 1983. He was Tenured Professor of Political Economics, Public Revenue and Financial Law, and was also named Professor Emeritus of the academic institution. His noteworthy career in the university is marked by landmark contributions, such as the promotion of the creation of the Conference of Rectors of the Spanish University (CRUE), the establishment of the course of La Granda or the foundation of the School of Hispanic Studies.
