Teams from seven autonomous communities competed in the final phase, which took place at the University of Granada
A group of female students from the IES Galileo Galileo of Navia have won the final phase of the contest "Incubator of Surveys and Experiments", which took place at the University of Granada in early July. Their work involved a detailed analysis of The Electricity Bill.
In the category for Secondary Education students, the Asturian representatives won the second place with the research entitled We are all intelligent, by students of the IES Número 1 of Gijón, and which analyzes artificial intelligence mathematically.
The contest "Incubator of Surveys and Experiments" is organized by the Department of Statistics and Operative Research and Didactics of Mathematics of the University of Oviedo, in collaboration with the Council for Education, Culture and Sports of the Principality of Asturias. A total of seven autonomous communities participated in the finals, which took place in Granada, after choosing their representatives in the local phases.
The Incubator of Surveys and Experiments aims at promoting the teaching and learning of statistics in non-university levels so that students become used to statistics and the processes of gathering and analysis of data, and, afterwards, making decisions after interpreting them.
