The University of Oviedo has awarded its Golden and Silver Medals to teacher and members of the administrative staff who retired during this academic year. The Rector, Vicente Gotor, presided over the act, which paid homage to more than thirty members of the academic institution for their careers at the university.

The ceremony, which also had the presence of the members of the Rector's team, marked the official inauguration of 10 Directors of Department; 2 Directors of University Institutes; 1 Dean; 2 Tenured Professors, and 3 Professors.

The Rector thanked the teachers and members of the administrative staff for their service, dedication and effort throughout the years and encouraged them to maintain their relation with the University. Regarding the new members of the academic body, Gotor congratulated them and wished them the best in their new positions.

The Golden Medals were awarded this year to nine teachers and members of the administrative staff. The Silver Medals will be given to six teachers, seven members of the administrative staff and two posthumously.
