The University leads a project to promote labor and commercial mobility in Europe

The academic institution will develop the initiative 'Europe needs your talent: Strategies for your future' in collaboration with the town councils of Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés

The University of Oviedo has been a benefitiary of the project Europe needs your talent: Strategies for your future, co-funded by the Permanent Representation of the European Commission in Madrid. This initiative, in which the town councils of Avilés, Gijón and Oviedo collaborate, aims at promoting labor and commercial mobility in European countries and to raise awareness among unemployed people and entrepreneurs about the European labor market.

This project, which has been selected among 180 proposals, seeks to bring the citizens of Asturias closer to the different policies that may facilitate the acquisition of a first labor or professional experience, insertion into the labor market, the creation of enterprises or the expansion of the currently-existing ones.

Through seminars, conferences and talks by the main actors of each proposed thematic axis, the opportunities offered by European policies and actions are presented. The program is centered on three topics: Entrepreneurial talent (ERASMUS Entrepreneur and COSME programs), professional talent (internship and European mobility programs) and personal talent (labor skills in a European environment and development of international labor portals).

Three seminars are planned in Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés. The session in Avilés will be focused on the creation of small service enterprises and digital economy, promoting the ERASMUS Entrepreneur program. The meeting will take place in April 9 and will feature Gloria Lorenzo-Lerones, representative of the European Commission, among other experts. Moreover, there will be a workshop with the experiences of entrepreneurs and managers.

In Gijón, coinciding with the dates of the XIII Forum of University Employment, next May, international employability and pilot projects of European mobility. Finally, in November in Oviedo, the session will be focused on the small and medium enterprise and the teaching of an entrepreneurial and employment culture.
